Sturgeon Bay City: The Common Council will meet Tuesday, 20 May at 7 PM in Council Chambers, 421 Michigan Street . Agenda items:

  • Second reading of an ordinance re: Annexing property to the City known as Georgenson property and applying temporary zoning (2/3 vote required = 5 votes)
  • Public hearing re: proposed amendment to Section 20.41(19) of Municipal Code which specifies the requirement for a fiscal and economic impact analysis for large retail establishments
  • First reading of an ordinance re: Amendment to Section 20.41(19) relating to parameters of fiscal and economic impact analysis for large retail establishments. (Traffic, fiscal, economic, environmental impact). The City Plan Commission voted 6-1 to recommend adoption of the proposed amendment.
  • First reading of an ordinance re: Annexing property to the City known as the DeWitt property— 3217 S. Duluth Ave.
  • First reading of an ordinance re: Annexing property to the City known as the Ellenbecker Trust property—33167 S. Duluth Ave.
  • First reading of an ordinance re: Annexing property to the City known as the Lagerman property— 3203 S. Duluth Ave.
  • First reading of an ordinance re: Annexing property to the City known as the Hoffman property— 3175 S. Duluth Ave.
  • First reading of an ordinance re: Annexing property to the City known as the HAI-I LLC— 3119 S. Duluth Ave. (Sherwin Williams store)
  • Financing & Purchasing & Building Committee recommendation re: Approve the sale of Lot 2 of Whitford's First Addition to the Sturgeon Bay Industrial Park to Daniel Schwartz owner of Dan's Fish, Inc. in the amount of $30,300 as outlined in the Offer to Purchase. The owner will construct a freezer building and dock space (8,000 sq. ft.) and phase 2 will be another 4,000 sq. ft. for office space. The City pricing policy is $30,000/acre. This is a 1.01 acre parcel. The building is 12,000 sq. ft. and the investment is estimated to create/relocate 18 jobs.
  • Convene in closed session in accordance with the following exemption: Conferring with legal counsel who is rendering oral/written advice concerning strategy to be adopted with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved (Consideration of: Shipyard Partners LLC). Move to reconvene in open session to take formal action upon preceding subject.
  • Election of District 7 alderman (David McAllister has resigned)
  • East Side substation. Utilities' General Manager Jim Stawicki will report on why the substation is necessary. The recommended location is at the intersection of Lily Bay Road and Cty. TT.  SBU recently obtained an option to purchase this parcel for $50,000.
