Wisconsin

WISCONSIN WAY ENTERS PHASE TWO

The second phase of Wisconsin Way is about to begin with a new round of public forums throughout the state. Hundreds of comments that were shared at the first set of forums are being studied by public and private sector economists and analysts, as well as UW-Madison public affairs experts, to help frame these comments into potential policy solutions. These solutions will be presented at a second set of statewide, public forums this summer.    HYPERLINK "http://www.wisconsinway.org/" \o "http://www.wisconsinway.org/" http://www.wisconsinway.org/

Wisconsin Way is a grassroots project that pulls together the support and resources of a wide variety of interests to find ways to build a stronger Wisconsin economy that can better support public services, including education. Leaders of the Wisconsin Way effort are currently working with a nonpartisan team of budget experts, policy advisers, economic development leaders, academics and financial industry members to turn the public's priorities into a workable blueprint for the state.

A second round of 15 forums between June 24 and August 19 are a chance to learn about the preliminary research findings and weigh in as the blueprint takes shape. The Wisconsin Way needs your input. Click on the Forum Schedule on the right side of the page to find the upcoming forum in your area, and help spread the word about the Wisconsin Way.

New to the Wisconsin Way? This site provides background about the unique effort to help improve and reshape public policy from the ground up. You can access substantive research material to help you better understand Wisconsin's economy and infrastructure. You can watch and read transcripts of previous public forums and check out the more than 50 media stories written about the Wisconsin Way.

Like the organizers of the Wisconsin Way project—including the Wisconsin Counties Association, Wisconsin Education Association Council, Wisconsin REALTORS® Association, Wisconsin Transportation Builders Association and Wood Communications Group—forum participants say they are driven to join in out of concern over troubling economic and demographic trends threatening the future of our state.
